Breitling Watches

Breitling is a leader in luxury watchmaking. Founded in 1884, the Swiss brand pioneered navigational tool watches and invented the modern chronograph. Over the years, pilots and adventurers alike have relied on the brand’s highly accurate timepieces.

Today, Breitling remains one of the few independent watchmakers that manufactures its movements in house – each one is a COSC-certified chronometer. The brand’s collections centre on air, sea and land pursuits, reflecting its navigational history and combining classic watchmaking with contemporary design. Breitling is spearheading a movement of inclusive luxury with more than 150 relaxed, industrial loft-inspired retail locations worldwide.

Renowned for their style coupled with unrivalled reliability, a Breitling ladies watch is the perfect choice for the image-conscious women with an appreciation for the art of watchmaking.

In the 1950s, the demand for divers’ watches increases due to their essential role in the conquest of the oceans, in professional deep-sea diving and in the scientific exploration of the seas. Aquatic sports and nautical leisure activities are also booming, and amateur enthusiasts need instruments that can safely be worn during their exciting excursions under the surface of the water.

Rewind to 1957, Breitling simultaneously launches two ground-breaking diving watches, both named SuperOcean. These two watches embody different visions of nautical sports: the elegant time-only is intended for the gentleman who cares about his style even while at the beach, while the sportier chronograph is definitively more for the seasoned diver who needs a watch for performance and reliability.

The Sound of Watchmaking

Breitling have worked meticulously to drive attention on this topic and are proud to support Ocean Conservancy, an organisation that has organised tens of thousands of coastal clean-up events for more than 35 years in 153 countries. Breitling plays an active role in some of the Ocean Conservancy’s initiatives by participating in its clean-up programs to protect the health of the ocean and work towards a trash-free sea.

The Superocean Heritage II Chronograph 44 Outerknown celebrates Breitling’s partnership with sustainable apparel manufacturer Outerknown, co-founded by surfing legend Kelly Slater. The watch features a Nato strap crafted from ECONYL® yarn, a material created from nylon waste extracted from oceans around the world.
