Description
A legendary timepiece reborn. The OMEGA Speedmaster Chronograph honours the historic October 3rd, 1962 moment when astronaut Walter Schirra wore the CK 2998 on the Sigma 7 Mercury mission—the first OMEGA in space. This 39.70mm tribute captures authentic 2nd generation Speedmaster heritage in contemporary form. The polished and brushed stainless steel case pairs with a black leather strap and stainless steel buckle. The black aluminium bezel features the iconic tachymeter scale and distinctive "Dot Over Ninety" marking. The grey-blue CVD-coated dial evokes the patina of original 1960s CK 2998 models. Vintage Super-LumiNova fills the Alpha hands and indexes, while the white varnished Baton seconds hand echoes period authenticity. Three subdials track 30-minute, 12-hour, and small-seconds functions. Vintage OMEGA logos grace the dial and crown. The caseback displays the Seahorse medallion with "THE FIRST OMEGA IN SPACE" and "OCTOBER 3, 1962" engravings—a permanent reminder of this watch's storied legacy. Powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, the modern evolution of the legendary Calibre 321 trusted by astronauts. Presented in a special box with "LEGENDARY MOONWATCH" documentation, this is horological history on your wrist.
