OMEGA made history in 2019 when the Ultra Deep concept watch achieved the world's deepest dive as part of the Five Deeps Expedition. This remarkable feat led to the creation of a collection designed for everyday adventurers. The watch was rigorously tested in real ocean conditions and has a water resistance of 6,000 metres (20,000 ft.), meeting the ISO 6425:2018 standard for saturation divers’ watches, certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).
This model, measuring 45.5mm, features a sturdy O-MEGASTEEL case and bracelet, as well as an intriguing dial that pays tribute to the mysteries of the ocean depths. The intricate design accurately reflects the bottom of the Challenger Deep, the deepest point in the Mariana Trench, which was mapped by the Five Deeps team using nearly one million sonar data points. The lacquered finish, created by allowing a lacquer ocean to flow over the dial, adds a stunning sense of depth. Even more delightful, shining a UV light reveals the words "OMEGA WAS HERE", commemorating the record-breaking dive of 10,935 meters (35,876 ft.) and showcasing the Western, Central, and Eastern Pools.
The caseback features a laser-engraved logo of OMEGA's signature trident-bearing Poseidon and two seahorses, including the original design from 1956 and the current brand design. The OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 8912 is housed behind it.
