Description
Breitling's iconic Navitimer - the pilot's chronograph. 1952 saw the development of the wrist-worn chronograph with a slide rule, perfect for flight calculations. AOPA recognized this design two years later as its official watch.
The Aviation Organization of Professional Pilots (AOPA) counts most US aviators among its members, making it the largest pilots' club on the planet. The iconic Navitimer became an acclaimed flight watch during the golden age of air travel, worn by pilots and aircraft lovers alike. Astronaut Scott Carpenter even sported one in outer space in 1962. But its irresistible design resonated with more than just the aviation community; celebrities such as Miles Davis and Serge Gainsbourg adopted it as their own, demonstrating its unique combination of style and utility.
Breitling’s iconic Navitimer gets a modern makeover with a flattened slide rule, domed crystal and polished/brushed metal elements. New colour options - blue, green and copper - enliven the dial and the AOPA wings return to their original spot at 12 o'clock.
Breitling's original pilot's watch has been loved for 70 yrs. Astronauts in space and world-famous stars have worn it, making it Breitling's most iconic watch.
